 Details
The BBC's series of live broadcasts on British Wildlife, Britain Goes Wild, is just over two thirds of the way through its three week stint. In tonight's programme Kate Humble, who fronts the Make Space For Nature campaign, announced the figure of 50,000 'pledges' so far. Viewers are asked to phone in or go to the website and pledge to take some action in their garden to benefit wildlife and on each show another way to help wildlife is suggested.

To encourage 50,000 people (so far) to pledge their support for the wildlife in their gardens is a staggering achievement and one which could have lasted benefit for people and nature in this country.
